When we work on SharePoint console application we generally get this error "The Web application at could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application".
Solution:
1) Goto the properties of solution,change platform target x64 in build tab.
2) Change the target framework to 3.5 in application tab.
